LABORATORY FOR INTERDICIPLINARY COLLABORATION
CoLab was born out of an idea centered around creation of a network of young professionals who deal with urban space and who look for solutions meeting the needs of the current era. In order to turn this idea into reality, we are bringing together experts from all around the world, thus building a network of people who engage in out-of-the-box thinking and who can, by working together, achieve more, as well as move boundaries of what is thought to be attainable further up. We are a global, interdisciplinary team with one main goal: to create quality living environment.
CoLab represents a hub of services required for urban and architectural projects around the world, which involve direct contact with future users. Through thinking and designing in co-operation with future users, we also educate the latter about urban and architectural issues.
The organization was founded in April 2013. It was established to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and for the purposes of forming a partnership between companies, educational institutions, public utilities, and professional and research institutions, both at the local and international level. The CoLab Institute focuses on knowledge exchange, best practices, and new digital technologies in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning and urban design. Also, the organization plays an important role in the field of life-long learning about urban design and architecture. Our focus points can be divided into four main topics: information, communication, collaboration and education (the latter concentrating mostly on the general public and experts).
